With heavy duty flanged ends, the BS 86-SS can be easily incorporated into a pipeline without excessive hassle. The slanted straining element design and straight flow path of this strainer minimize pressure loss due to debris buildup. Pressure loss can be easily monitored by mounting a pressure gauge on either side of the strainer in the standard NPT taps. This strainer also has a self-cleaning option which utilizes a Titan FCI ball valve on the bottom drain and a modified straining element. This allows automatic cleaning or flushing of the straining element without shutting down the pipeline.
