The micron rating is equivalent to the size particles that each individual cartridge filter can remove. It is easy to tell the level of filtration the cartridge filters featured above can guarantee because they are listed as 5 micron. This means that they remove less than the 1 micron cartridge filters but more than the 10 micron cartridge filters. While they still are able to remove what the human eye cannot see, they cannot guarantee the removal of viruses or bacteria. However, if you do not need every miniscule particle removed this is a benefit because the larger the micron number, the less likely the cartridge filter is to become frequently clogged.
