Filter cartridges are a popular choice for a number of industrial processes. They often allow more surface area than a filter bag, and they can be better at filtering certain media. Cartridge housings hold the actual filter element and pipe the media in, through the cartridge, and back out. A single cartridge housing holds just one cartridge at a time. There are other models that can hold multiple cartridges at once, increasing flow rate capabilities, etc.
Single cartridge housings may be made of carbon steel, stainless, steel, or other materials. Depending on the model, the housing might be able to accommodate several types of filters - like pleated or wound depth. Cartridges also come in different sizes and lengths.
