Hayward YSH 1/2" PVC Y-Strainer with Integral Socket Ends
This 1/2" Hayward YSH Series Y-Strainer combines reliable particulate removal with a compact, serviceable design built for commercial and industrial filtration systems. The body is molded from PVC (PVC Cell Class 12454 per ASTM D1784), paired with a PVC straining basket and EPDM o-ring seals.
Constructed from durable PVC, this strainer delivers excellent chemical resistance across a broad range of acids, bases, and salt solutions commonly found in industrial and commercial water treatment systems.
The integral socket ends provide a permanent, solvent-cemented connection ideal for fixed installations where the strainer will remain in place long-term.
Sealed with EPDM o-rings, which offer broad compatibility with water, dilute acids, and alkaline solutions — a versatile choice for most water treatment and general industrial environments.

The YSH Series features exterior buttress threads and a pressure-relieving chamfered barrel nut for safer servicing. An optional hex cap provides tool-assisted screen access, while pre-drilled cap taps accommodate blow-out or gauge ports. Clear PVC screen inserts are available for visual monitoring. Suitable for horizontal or vertical mounting. Optional mesh screens (20–325 mesh) offered in stainless steel, PVDF, Hastelloy, titanium, and Monel for specialized filtration needs.
